JoJo Siwa has an exciting new project in the works — and you’ll be able to watch it pan out on TV!
As a refresher, JoJo, who has been dancing practically her entire life, first came into the spotlight when she competed on the Dance Moms spinoff Abby's Ultimate Dance Competition. That was in 2013. Fast forward nine years and the dancer-turned-singer — who was more recently on Season 30 of Dancing With The Stars — is set to join another of TV’s most renowned dancing competition series.
On Monday, April 4, Fox announced that when So You Think You Can Dance returns for its 17th season, JoJo will be on the judges' panel.
“FINALLY!…. 'So You Think You Can Dance' is coming to FOX this summer and I am so grateful that I am going to be a judge! It’s such an honor to be a part of this shows come back,” JoJo exclaimed in the caption of her Instagram announcement.
Naturally, JoJo’s fans — and the 18-year-old herself — can hardly contain their excitement. “OMG 2022 IS GOING TO BE EPIC,” one fan commented on JoJo’s post. “SO PROUD OF YOU QUEEN,” another fan wrote. “So excited for you. You deserve it ❤️❤️,” another fan swooned.
JoJo will be joining the SYTYCD cast alongside alum host Cat Deeley, as well as other newcomers, Stephen “Twitch” Boss and “Glee” star Matthew Morrison. The switch — which cast out judges Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy and Laurieann Gibson — came after the show was put on hold for two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
To watch JoJo and the other new judges shine in their new roles, be sure to mark your calendar for Wednesday, May 18 at 9 p.m. ET.
